What does Real Togetherness mean to you?

Real Togetherness for me is nothing but breaking free from the clutches of our smart phones and building meaningful relationships with our kith and kin in the real world as emphasized by Kissan.

In today's world, people are more and more shackled with the internet available everywhere in the form of wi-fi in all kinds of devices like laptops, ipads, mobile phones, etc. They keep browsing for information on the internet which leads to another search and then just waste hours together for just one single info they required. Even kids these days do their assignments browsing from the internet rather than taking help from teachers, parents or friends.

All these have resulted in an isolated kind of environment where everybody gets their things done via internet and not having to interact with others. Everybody just seems to be busy in their own lives. Be it while having food in hotel, driving or in some functions, whatever the scene may be, you will see people just hooked to their gadget.

However, in this internet era, an environment of Real Togetherness can be had and its not a mission next to impossible. We can achieve this by many ways like community gardening where everyone join hands together to grow fruits and vegetables in the backyard and then sharing among themselves. Kids too can be part of this and they can do their bit by watering the plants. They will be excited by seeing these tiny seeds growing into lovely plants. We can also grow variety of flowers and everybody will love the colorful surrounding as a result.

Quality times can then be spent with our elders and kids in these surroundings and the beautiful art of conversation will automatically start. Things can be discussed and cleared face to face with real life experiences rather than doing google searches and getting numerous search results making us more confused.

This will also lead to more bonding and friendship and as a result people will prefer their outings like going for trekking, amusement parks, zoos, beaches, adventure trips etc., in groups rather than going and spending time alone. Ladies can also do their shopping and cooking in groups which will be more enjoyable. Visits can also be arranged to farm houses where things can be explained to kids and they will get a real life exposure.

Many simple get togethers can also be arranged like hoisting the flag on national days, celebrating festivals like Eid, Diwali, Dusserha, etc in the community hall with everyone present. It will be more fun with people of all age group coming together and sharing happiness.

Group activities can be organized in the apartment, like badminton, volleyball, cricket matches, etc., it will create a spirit of togetherness. Singing, drawing and craft classes can also be organized for kids. People can showcase their talents and teach others as well.

I feel this is the right time that we come together and break the shackles of the digital world and instead get down to the roots and connect in person. Life will become less stressful and people will be more open, helpful and friendly.
